My Top 10 Favourite Beauty Products [Tag]

I love doing tags, so when I saw this one on BeansBeautyBlog I thought it would be fun! I had hoped to post this yesterday but I couldn't find good light anywhere! Curse this weather, hey!?

1. Foundation
I rarely wear foundation, but over summer I picked up the Urban Decay Foundation to help even out my skin as I was having a bit of an issue with redness and I knew these came in a really wide range of shades. I need 0.5 as i'm really pale!

2. Concealer
Despite the fact that I don't really like putting my fingers in products, I really like Phwoarr Paint. It does a pretty good job on my dark circles. I really should start sleeping a little more, but Phwoarr Paint has my back for the days I have super late nights.

3.  Powder
Errrr NYX Matte Setting Spray kinda does the same job, right? I need my friend to take me on a shopping trip to up my base game. It's a good size bottle so I figure it'll probably last ages.

4.  Blush
Benefit Dandelion. I only have a teeny little mini one of these, but the colour is very soft and gentle.

5.  Bronzer
I do not do bronzer, not even for that 'sunkissed glow'. I had a tan once, and I looked seriously ill. Well, I was pretty ill at the time, maybe that didn't help... So instead I picked my favourite primer. It does the job. But really, I just like the name and the fact it's vegan...

6.  Highlighter
I have no idea. I think I have a few in different forms but i'm kind of intimidated by them. I do very little in terms of base. I think the most i've ever really put on by myself is primer. I can't live without eyeliner though, so i'll show you my favourite of those. Kat Von D Tattoo liner. This is literally the only one i've ever managed to use, and not make a mess with. So I love it.

7.  Mascara
bareMinerals Lash Domination mascara is the best i've ever used. Even if it is a total git to photograph.

8. Eyeshadow
Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Tako! If I was only allowed one eyeshadow ever, it would be Tako. I like adding a little to the inner corners and waterline because black eyeliner sometimes makes my eyes look a bit small, and this counteracts it perfectly.

9. Eyebrow
Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift in Grace K. I like this as it's a really soft pencil, I think I mentioned before that I like it as it is nice and gentle on my brow scar and adds just the right amount of definition for my liking.

10. Lip product
Oh don't do this to me. Lip products are my absolute favourite thing ever when it comes to beauty items. But, I think my absolute favourite must be Space Cake by Melt Cosmetics. I fell in love with this when it arrived. It's such a unique colour, really nice formula and I haven't seen anything quite like it anywhere else.

So that's the lot! My ten favourite things in the world of beauty.

I tag...

You! Yup. I tag you. Don't forget to leave me your link if you join in with the tag! I'm a right nosey so and so, and i'd love to see your faves!

The Beauty Blogger Tag

I'm not quite sure where this tag came from. But since I was tagged by Sarah @ Morrall of the Story.
I thought i'd give it ago, as tonight will be spent sobbing into pizza and doughnuts with my parents over the last three episodes of House. I've already seen them, i'm preparing to be an emotional wreck.

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
My dream career is to be a writer. Well, an author to be more specific but writing in any creative capacity is what I desire most from a future career. Well, that may seem like a strange reason to start blogging, but lots of positions where I could get experience writing professionally actually recommend having a blog to use as a reference if there is no published work to submit. So here we are!

I don't remember exactly when I started blogging, but I began on Wordpress and after a few posts and hating the blogs layout and eventually blog name, I skipped town to blogspot with a new blog name and a layout i'm a lot happier with.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
I started out only really reading my friend Katy's blog. She's recently moved over to blogger from wordpress, so I think we'd both appreciate it if you had a peep! :) After that I also began regularly reading Drained Beauty. Since then if you'd call it 'falling in love' with a blog, i'd say Biohazardous Beauty. I'd love to hang out with her and her make up is always amazing. She has such a distinctive eye, that I can always tell when a brand posts a look of hers. That's a very strange thing to say, but check out her looks and tell me you don't get it. Dare ya.

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?
I don't really think i've bought any specificly hyped product on the blogosphere, but I did buy my first Illamasqua items based on all the good things I was hearing in the blog world. After a visit to the counter in Birmingham (which was a smaller one then) and smelling the perfume, I had to have it. Then my collection magically got super big...

What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?
1) Bloggers are friendly.
2) I pick up little tips to improve my make up all the time.
3) I feel in the loop about new stuff.
4) Lipstick.
5) It's not all about the products, it's peeps into peoples lives too and getting to know them through their posts.

What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger?
I've learnt that sometimes spending more money on a product really is worth it. I don't really mean spending out for the super top range in everything, but at least investing a little more than I usually would for a product that suits my needs better, instead of sticking with the same old things that didn't really do the job so well just because they were cheaper.

Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger?
I spend way more time staring at my bank balance and willing it to go up. It never happens...

What advice would you give to a Beauty Blogger just starting out?
Be friendly! I've been a bit scatterbrained so far, but I find that when I have a 'focus' day and interact with other bloggers, not only does it feel great, but I (excuse me if this seems really bad to say) think it will make people more willing to pop over and read your blog. If you are friendly and stop by to let someone know you enjoyed reading their post, not only does it feel good for them but you can make a new friend!
So that's my top tip. Be friendly! Talk to everyone!
What are your top 5 make-up brands?
1) Illamasqua
2) Too Faced
3) Sugarpill
5 ) Melt Cosmetics
4) Lime Crime

Recommend your top 5 beauty products
1) Too Faced - Lashgasm Mascara
2) Illamasqua - Pure Pigment
3) Nails Inc - Baker Street Polish.
4) Melt Cosmetics Lipstick.
Space Cake is love.
5) Sugarpill - Pressed Eyeshadow.
Especially Tako.

[TAG] The 7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty

Hey everyone! I'm working hard on swatches, reviews and other blog posts! I have lots planned and I have finally found my camera! Woohoo! So to get regular blogging again, I thought i'd give this tag a go that I found over on Tansy Pansy's blog! If you fancy it, have a go and leave a link in the comments. I TAG you all! :)
GREED - What's the most expensive thing in your makeup bag?
The most expensive thing in my make up bag is likely my Lime Crime Alchemy palette. Although I didn't pay for it, yay! It was part of my 21st birthday present from my friends. The shadows are so soft and just glide on. They're absolutely beautiful and last without primer.
WRATH - What item do you have a strong love/hate relationship with?
Lipstick. I love lipstick, and it's probably my favourite thing because I have so many colours. However, I always manage to mess up around my lip ring, and smudge it.
GLUTTONY - What brand takes up most of your collection?
Illamasqua. Mainly nail polishes and lipsticks, but my eyeshadows, liquid metal and perfume collection is growing rather nicely.
SLOTH - Which product do you ignore most due to laziness?
Make up remover. I usually forget to take my make up off without fail. I know it's terrible, and I really should start taking it off when I get into my pj's, but there are still snapchats to send around that time... Then it gets to about 4am and before I know it i've gone and dozed off with it still on.
And wake up with it all over my face the next day.
PRIDE - Which product gives you the most confidence?
Eyeliner. I never leave the house without it on the top and bottom lash line. I usually bodge a winged liner without fail for day to day so I just try and keep it pretty simple.
LUST - What product is at the top of your list?
The other three Lime Crime palettes. The Alchemy palette and is probably the most beautiful set of shadows I own, so I most certainly want the other three.
ENVY - Which makeup product/ look looks great on others but not on you?
Bronzer. I don't suit even a vaguely tanned or glowy look what so ever. I'm too pale and pinkish for any sort of golden tone to suit me even in the slightest. The beach babe and golden glow look is so beautiful on so many women. I'm just not one of them.

So there we have it! What are your sins? Drop me a link in the comments if you decide to give it a go. I'd love to have a read of your blog.

The Lipstick Tag

Hello everyone!
So I thought i'd take a break from the battle i've been losing horrendously with trying to get my blog to look how I want it to, and actually make a post! Hopefully i'll have a desk area soon, so i'll be getting right on with some swatching and product reviews!

But for now I thought i'd give 'The Lipstick Tag' a go. I first saw this post on a blog I really enjoy reading called The A Style by Alexandra, and you can find the original post here.

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
I just counted. Not including lip glosses or liquid style lipsticks... I have a grand total of 14 Lipsticks. Out of these, one is from Topshop, one Barry M, one Mac, two Lime Crime and the rest are Illamasqua.

2. What was the first lipstick you owned?
The first lipstick I ever owned, i'm not entirely sure you would count it as being under my ownership. It was one of my mothers moisturising lipsticks from Avon that I had somehow commandeered as a small child and she never saw again. I surprised her recently by replacing it... After about 14 years.

3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?
Now this is a hard question... Looking at my collection you would probably think it is Illamasqua, and they're most definitely a contender for the title. However, I do love my Lime Crime lipsticks just as much.

 Lime Crime - Serpentina

4. What is your most worn lipstick?
My most worn lipstick is my Mac Viva Glam Cyndi Lauper. It's kind of my default 'go-to' lipstick as i've had it around three years now and for quite some time it was the only lipstick I really had. (I also had a Viva Glam Gaga but somehow I lost it.) I still remember how excited I was when I got my first tax rebate and went to the Mac counter to get them.

Mac Viva Glam - Cyndi Lauper

5. What is your favourite finish?
Matte. I adore matte finish anything.

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?
The last lipstick I bought was Illamasqua 'Disciple'. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is just something so enticing to me about a blue lipstick. Personally I think they're great for looking a bit different on nights out, and amazing for selfie taking and even fancy dress... Although I do expect i'd get a few strange looks if I popped this colour on to nip into Tesco...

Illamasqua - Disciple
7. How many lip products do you have in your bag?
Currently? I have 19 different lip products in my bag, as I haven't unpacked them after taking them in to work to show my co-worker who wanted a peek at my collection. As a more general rule of thumb, I tend to have two or three loitering around in there. Usually, a balm, a gloss and a lipstick.

8. What is your favourite red lip color?
I seem to have almost every colour under the rainbow, yet reds don't really feature much in my collection. As much as I adore my Lime Crime 'Glamour 101' deep red, I think the title of my favourite red has to go to the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquer in Reckless. The colour is absolutely beautiful, and it just feels so soft when applied, and has staying power! It is well worth its £3 price tag, and i'll definitely be picking up the other shades.

9. How do you store your lipsticks?
For now, I keep all my make up in a draw, using left over boxes from perfume gift sets to seperate face, eyes, lips and nails. However, once i've finished tinkering with the layout and furniture in my room, i'm hoping to find a nicer way to store it all.

10. Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
The entire Melt Cosmetics collection, which includes two brand new shades that have just been released, and a re-stock of almost all of their other shades. These have been sold out for what seems like so long, and i'm pretty sure they will sell out again before payday. So keep your fingers crossed there are some left for me when payday finally rears her sleepy head! Failing that, a few more Lime Crime lippies wouldn't go a miss... I'll definitely be setting aside some funds for the release of 'The Clueless Witch' collection in March.

If you think this looks like fun and decide to do 'The Lipstick Tag' too, please let me know in the comments so I can visit your blog! Thanks for looking! <3

The 2013 Christmas Tag

So my friendling over at Life and Lipstain recommended this blog post for me to do today, and considering Halloween is now out of the way, November is settling in and the decorations went up last night ready for today's CHRISTMAS launch in all Tesco stores nationwide... (I totally haven't been trying to get my mitts on a giant bauble all of last night... honest...) It means just one thing...

The Christmas Countdown is officially upon us.

So today we shall be doing the 2013 Christmas Tag as created by Georgina Kent of Makeup-Pixi3.

1.  Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
Synthetic trees. I've heard real ones shed something chronic and you'd get tree bristles everywhere. And considering my track record of blowing up three hoovers with my lack of domestic skills, I can only say having a real one in the house would just add up to one bad idea...

2.  You're in a coffee shop, it's December, what do you pick?
I've been favouring Strawberry Lemonade from Costa recently. So probably that. I have a strange dislike of all hot drinks. Nope. No tea or hot chocolate for me... Yes, i'm a strange child we know...

3.  Whats your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
I'm totally in love with the Scandinavian inspired decorations that are making an appearance this year. Roll on payday when I snap up a bunch of my own to make my little black tree look fabulous!

4.  Giving or receiving?
Giving is by far the best thing. I'm a bit of a prodigy when it comes to sleuthing out the worlds best gifts from strange and wonderful little shops or websites. I'm super excited for Christmas this year as i've got a crop of awesomeness to dish out to my unsuspecting victims... I mean... Presents for my friends and family...

5.  To mince pie or not to?
To mince pie!!!! I have a routine with mine. Rip the top off, have a nibble... Scoop out the insides and demolish the rest. Yum yum!

6.  What's your traditional sunday lunch?
Christmas lunch hasn't been traditional for me for a fair while. I have been a vegetarian for many a year (I don't even know how long myself...) So we usually try and find something new and exciting for my Chrimble din-dins. Of course, the traditional veggies, roasties, gravy and meats for my family... But I've had falafel, tofu, mushrooms and nut roasts. This year I think we're going with Higgledy Piggeldy pies! They look so christmassy and are super yummy. Oh! Topped off with super bad cracker jokes and silly paper hats of course.

7.  Christmas day fashion
Do I have to get dressed? Last year I wore a nice green skater dress, but threw on a purple hoodie because I got cold. Although I did accessorise with a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood necklace my friend got me for my present. S.P.O.I.L.T much! :p This year, I plan on wearing something comfy, and a super festive jumper. (Just not wool, apparently i'm allergic now. D'oh!)

8.  What's your favourite Christmas song?
Does Fall Out Boy count? (What do you mean no!?) It'll have to be Winter Wonderland then methinks. Maybe? Or Rudolf... Or Jingle Bells, Batman smells... (Sorry Batty.)

9.  What's your favourite Christmas film?
Oooh this is a tough one. Does my old VHS of Disney Christmas Sing-A-Long Carols count? Because that was the best thing ever!!! Or Anastasia. My favourite film any other time of the year too, and there's snow! So... Settled!

10.  Open presents before or after lunch?
Before! Everyone falls asleep after lunch don't they? Or is that just my dad... And grandad... And brother... Maybe I do as well. Zzzzzzz.

So there we go! The CHRISTMAS Tag!
Lemme know if you post your answers, so I can have a nosey too! :)
