Valentines Gift Guides

Anyone still stuck with Valentines ideas?

I am the least romantic person I know, and generally spend Valentines Day alone. The last time I didn't, I hung out with my housemate at uni using spare mattresses as slides and decorating cookies.
Last year I anonymously sent some pretty funny but kind of inappropriate cards (that will teach me not to only read the cover!) to my guy friends but was sussed pretty quickly. Sad times, hey?

I've been having a think and i'm here with some last minute shopping inspo to get those ideas flowing for those of you who have been stumped until now, or have just left it a little late!

‣Charm bracelets are the saviours of last minute birthday, Christmas, and Valentines shopping. In my opinion, it's like you've been handed a get out of jail free card if you leave it to late for gift hunts. A nice charm and bobs your uncle! Pandora, Chamila, Trollbead, Thomas Sabo... So many different brands and almost every woman I know has a bracelet from one of them. How about a nice heart charm for Valentines? Like this Heart Clip from Pandora or this Red Heart from Thomas Sabo?

‣The beauty world has been going crazy for 'Kendall Jenner' lips, MAC Cosmetics Velvet Teddy is going to be a big hit. It's sold out online so you may have some searching to do. Cross your fingers and hope for a bit of luck finding it at your local MAC counter...

‣I think Sugar & Vice Jewellery is amazing, and the Impossible Heart necklace from the abstract collection would make a great Valentines present. I always find the shipping to be really fast so you may still have time to get it in the post by Valentines dates if you scoot on over and order one quickly!

‣Flamingo Candles are really cute and come in so many different variations. All would make a great gift, and there is even a sweet strawberry sherbert, glittery Valentines offering called 'Love Bug'.

‣ Personally, I love Funko Pop! Vinyl figures. They seem to have a figure for everything.
Pictured here are two that caught my eye that I hope to add to my collection, Big Hero 6's Honey Lemon and Frozen's Elsa in her coronation outfit. All the figures are seriously cute, but if Disney won't do the trick, maybe something like American Horror Story, Supernatural or Lord of The Rings will?

‣Topshop's make up range is nice bet. I love their matte polishes and Never Been Kissed is a lovely lilac shade, and I like the film of the same name.

For a good pamper, team it up with...

‣Lush's Unicorn Horn! A seriously pretty bath from Lush's valentines range. Added rose petals and candles and you're full steam ahead to perfect Valentines territory there!

Pretty much all of the next suggestions would also fit under the 'for her' category.

‣There's an old saying that says 'the fastest way to a mans heart is through his stomach.' The fastest way to my heart is with pizza... So that is my first suggestion. Whether you make it, order in or go out to a restaurant, pizza is a great way to go and it's an easy dish to share... That's romantic right?

‣How about a box set? If they don't already have them The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad are popular. Pretty much everyone I know are obsessed with these shows. Guys and gals alike.

Plus, they go great with my next suggestion...

‣Another foodie gift, Tesco's Red Velvet and white chocolate cookies. They look the part, right? Plus, they are seriously yummy with like a pouch of melty white chocolate in the middle. A pack of five costs a grand total of £1... So buy every pack you can find! I usually only ever manage to find one or two at my local Tesco.:(

‣How about something that smells really nice? Especially if you plan on splashing out, Bleu de Chanel is lovely. Alternatively, Chanel's female scents or cosmetics make a great luxury gift.

‣A Cinema date! Who doesn't love the cinema experience? Huge popcorn boxes, slushy ice blasts and being able to kick back and watch a movie on a massive screen? Big Hero 6 is a great bet. Who doesn't love Disney, superheroes and giant huggable robots!? I've also heard that Kingsmen is great and it's definitely on my list of things to go and see.

More Funko! Aside from the awesome options I listed earlier, there's also Marvel, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead! So many options, you're bound to find something suitable. Pictured here are
Jack Skellington and the Winter Soldier.

So, those are my best ideas. Now to buy it all for myself! :p What do you think makes a great last minute Valentines gift?

Ciao for now!

Victoria's Secret

I love getting to know new brands, and one i've had the pleasure to get up close and personal with recently is the iconic Victoria's Secret. The first time I got to see some of their products was at the airport on the way to Paris and I feel in love with of their perfumes. Late last year, a pretty big VS store opened in the Bullring shopping center, Birmingham. That place is always worth a visit, hosting a bunch of my favourite shops under one roof. So once I had the chance to get over there for a visit, off I went!

I did find the sizing to be a little crazy. Some things in my size were way too small... Some were even a little too big. But upstairs in the PINK range, I found a perfect fit that's a size smaller than I usually wear, when others were nowhere near big enough. It's definitely worth getting a fitting and trying a bunch of different styles on.

So I ended up with the Leopard Lace push up bra, in a 'Seafoam'/mint colour. It's got quite a good chunk of padding in it, way more than i'd normally like, but blimmin'eck does it do the trick. The patterned band is a really nice touch, but it does make it a little snug at first. After a bit of wear it really does begin to mould to you though so don't be put off if it feels a little snug!

My experience of Victoria's Secret bras so far is that they are a very nice quality, lovely and soft, and comfy.

Also from the PINK range, I nabbed some of the 5 for £20 pants. Mainly because I wanted the mint green shorts with the band to match the bra i'd just chosen. But I picked out a bunch of different styles to try, including seamless. I usually find seamless to feel a bit scratchy, but these are very soft.

Again, the sizing is a little weird. The mediums come up very small, they fit my size 8-10 friend perfectly... But after a chat with one of the lovely assistants, I went ahead and got larges and they fit my big butt just fine.  Again, they are very soft, and very comfortable. Plus the range of styles and colours is huge, and the mix and match is fun. Check out these amusing pants I picked up, just in time for Valentines! ;)
#teamsinglepringle

I've been dying to nab some things from the fragrance section as they have many different scents that smell amazing, but I know i've got some for my birthday. So i've been told i'm not allowed! But I definitely think Victoria's Secret is worth a visit, even if it's just to smell the perfumes and body sprays!

Disney Jewellery; Minnie Mouse and Bambi.

Gift Alert! With Valentines Day looming it may be time to start hunting down your gifts and cards, if you haven't already got that sorted. But even if you're a single pringle like me just planning a girly night with your besties (and maybe a case of wine...) you may want to pick up a cute little something for those buddies.

You probably won't expect to stumble upon a super reasonably priced gift idea lurking between the clothing rails in your local Tesco. But that's exactly what I did, so I'm here to share some of my goodies with you that make great little gifts for your single friends, or just a nice treat for yourself.

This glitzy Minnie Mouse keychain was only £6 and is sure to be loved by any Minnie Mouse fan.

Bambi came with little glitzy heart studs, and was also £6. I really like this set as the studs are small but with a bit of sparkle, and the Bambi pendant is quite a simple and subtle way to Disney up an outfit.

Yup, you guessed it. The Mickey set was also £6 and has matching earrings. Very similar, but with a smaller price tag than the Disney Couture studs. This set is a little less subtle than the Bambi set, but its very cute.

Everything was priced between £5 and £6. I left behind the Tinkerbell necklace sets, and Winnie the Pooh keychains, but I also spied some new heart shaped pieces on the display when I passed by yesterday. Perfect, and just in time for Valentines Day! Unfortunately I can't find these online so I'm guessing they may be exclusive to stores.

So, who is off to Tesco for their Disney Jewellery fix now?

What Santa brought Ray; Xmas 2014

I love a good haul, birthday gifts/Christmas gifts reveal type posts, but I hear some people hate them. If that isn't your kind of thing, I get it, but... You may want to look away now! Because that is exactly what today's post is.

I had hoped to get this out earlier in the month, but it's kind of slipped away from me! January, where have you gone? Come back, we had plans! We've had snow here yesterday which took all my natural light and scuppered my plans to take my last photos for this post... But as soon as it stopped falling I grabbed my camera and got snapping! It then promptly started again...  But it did make me feel all festive again!

So let's have a look!

Goodies galore! A few things I couldn't resist cracking open to get a better look inside, or start using straight away, but I managed to keep some things nice for photos. Like the iTunes voucher which I intend to spend on a bit of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. The Yankee Candle set contains Christmas Cookie and Icicles. I'm really excited about trying the Oddka set from my mum, as it has a little bottle of Electricity in it! I've been absolutely dying to try that.

New Years Resolutions

How is everyone enjoying the new year? Pretty much everyone in my family and almost all of my friends have started it ill. I think I'm coming down with something too! :(

Today, I'm going to share with you the three New Year's Resolutions i've chosen for this year. Things I believe to be really achievable this year, and avoiding the old 'lose weight, get healthy' resolution. I'm pretty sure i've been using it as long as I can remember, and never, ever done it. So this year, it's out!

1 || Write More.
I'd love to one day be a screen-writer or novelist, so I really need to get my butt in gear and write more. Even if its just a bunch of short stories or snippets of something bigger. Lots of writing.

2 || Save Money!
I'm gonna need some pennies for all that travelling I fancy doing. Planning a big trip for next year and if all goes well a few smaller ones this year. Better dig out a penny jar! I was amazed how quick small change adds up when I began saving for last month's trip to Paris.

3 || Learn to do something with hair, for crying out loud.
I'm pretty useless when it comes to hairstyles, my hair is either like a birds nest from the wind, completely straight or naturally lazy wavy-ish. This year I want to master pin curls, victory rolls and maybe a nice up do or two. I've already got some hair dye ready to sort out the weird colour i've got going on at the minute. So i've made a good start!

So, there we go! There's my resolutions. What have you resolved to do this year?

D E C E M B E R | F A V O U R I T E S

Is everyone enjoying New Years Eve?

It's that time of the month again where I've been rounding up the best bits and bobs of the month, but for today? I think it's a good time to round up the best beauty products of 2014. This year has been amazing for new releases and, for me the discovery of new products and brands has been awesome! My beauty wishlist for next year is slowly growing. I must get my hands on some Nars lip pencils. 2015 mission right there.

1|Kat Von D - Tattoo Liner.
I always thought that I could not use liquid eyeliner to save my life, but the tattoo liner is an absolute dream to use. I might just stock up on a few extras to make sure I never run out... (It'll be handy when I inevitably misplace it too. Because I will!)

2|Sugarpill Pressed Pigment Eyeshadow in Tako.
Pretty sure everyone needs one of these in their lives. I love teaming it with one of the brighter colours for something a bit more jazzy, or when i'm going for something more neutral I love this on the water line and inner corner. All the love.
3|TokyoMilk Dark Lip Balm in Absinthe & Hand Cream in Tainted Love.
TokyoMilk Dark is a brand I managed to get my mitts on when Sephora began shipping to the UK, although things like perfume don't ship across the pond, I could still get some of the Lip Balms. I got three different ones and my favourite scent is the Absinthe one. These tins are actually pretty big too. After the success off the lipbalms, I decided to try one of the little travel sized hand creams for my winter trip. I think this had leaked a little on its way, because everything in my package smelled amazing, and this appeared to be the source.

4|Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucree.
Angel Eau Sucree was actually released on my birthday, ready for the summer. To me it smells like fun fairs and fond summer memories. And doughnuts. The run up to Christmas made me want to bathe in this sugary yummy-ness. I think I may well be heart broken if I cant get my hands on a more of this limited edition perfume.

5|Bare Minerals Lash Domination
My friend recommended this to me when we were browsing the beauty counters and absolutely swore by it. I just so happened to have a sample that I hadn't tried and once I had... There was no going back. This is by far the best mascara i've tried yet and i'm glad to have a spare mini and full size. They should see me through a good chunk of 2015.

6|Charlotte Tilbury's Eyebrow Pencil
I'm really pleased with the Charlotte Tilbury items i've tried so far. Of which this is the first I had an regularly use. I don't do much with my brows, so this is just perfect for me as it helps just tidy up and define my brows.

Well what a year, huh? I hope you all have a great day and a safe (but hella fun) night. See ya next year.

Happy New Year!
Love,

& Remy

[Top Five] Festive Things

Merry Christmas everyone!

It's a little later than i'd planned, but for today's post, I thought i'd share with you my Top Five things about the most wonderful time of the year! T'is the season to be jolly, and all that. I'm most definitely an Autumn/Winter baby, despite my spring birthday. It's not just the fashion, but the weather and atmosphere that make it the best!

So let's begin the count down with the runner up;
"Holiday's are Coming!" Its not Christmas 'til Coca-Cola say its Christmas. Imagine if they started airing the advert in July?! I actually went to see the trucks last year, which was rather fun. Lots of awkward and not that stealthy selfie taking in a huge crowd. Quite sad I missed them this year, but hey I was in Paris! C'est la vie! ;)

We'll get on with the countdown now then, shall we?

5|Sweater Weather;
Personally? I prefer to wear a jacket, at all times. Yep, even the height of Summer. I can't sleep without a duvet either. Can you imagine how overheated I get? Watch out for the steam escaping from my ears! Now the weather is colder I can pile on as many layers as I like until i'm a snug little bundle of soft fabrics. I'm all about the fluffy jumpers this festive season.

4|Pretty Lights;
Everything is lit up for Christmas. Which is handy when it gets dark at 4pm... But Christmas lights, whether out in the city streets or in the windows of local houses, passing by some festive lighting just makes me feel happier. It also reminded me that my brother pinched a set of my fairy lights last year and i've yet to see them again... I loved these lights on the Champs Elysees in Paris.

3|Buying Gifts;
I was pretty much all done with my Christmas shopping by the last week of October this year! I knew I had to be prepared as I wanted to have as much left from Novembers payday for my trip to Paris. I have a habit of buying a whole host of smaller goodies instead of one good size gift. Last year I packaged them up in stockings. I absolutely love buying all my Christmas presents... But wrapping them? Oh hell no. That is an entirely different story. I do not like to wrap. That is the worst thing about this time of year. Sellotape is my arch-nemesis.

2|Decorating the Tree;
My first year at Uni, I came home late in the month and the tree was already up and twinkling away. I really felt like I missed out. I missed putting up the tree for the first time in my life and it sucked. Last year I had a tree in my room as well, but it didn't look great last year by any stretch of the imagination. I decided not to overdo my tree this year, (as oppossed to caking it in every decoration I won like last year) and added some vintage kitchy decorations that used to belong to my Grandma. Check this baby out;

1|Snow;
I love miserable weather. It's dismal and dreary out? Good! I do not get along well with the heat.
I haven't seen any flurries yet, but I have high hopes we will get some snow days this year. There was talk of it but we've yet to see any here. :(

So what do you love most about the festive season? Are you enjoying the chilly weather or are you counting down the days until the sun returns? What goodies did Santa leave beneath your tree? Oooh so many questions!

Once again, Merry Christmas all! Have a great day. <3

Dear Santa, Christmas Wishes. [Wishlist]

How is everyone enjoying their Sunday? Hopefully we're all having a nice lazy one. Today I thought i'd share with you all another wishlist, but this time a little less pricey and a little more likely that Santa will pop them under the tree. I have one hell of an awful habit where if I want something, I just go and buy it. So when it comes to birthdays or Christmas, sometimes my friends struggle choosing what to get me. So if any of 'em are reading... I promise I won't buy any of these things. Well maybe i'll buy the chocolate, but i'll eat it, so it's fine right? I can have some more.

The Beauty industry were on form this year with their Christmas gifts, and as easy as it would be to list them all, the Urban Decay LipStash and MAC's Objects of Affection are both gorgeous and really reasonably priced. *grabby hands* Other beauty bits on my beauty wishlist for Christmas are the Salem Velvetine, and The Library of Fragrance's Thunderstorm fragrance. I've been good this year, I think I deserve them.

I'm lusting after the Cosmic Scrapbook from Paperchase so much, but really i'd like any scrapbook to be wrapped up in a bow under the tree. It'll be somewhere nice to store all the postcards i'm hoping to pick up on my trip to Paris this week! (Oh gosh, that's this week already!?) A Hotel Chocolat Salted Caramel Snowflake wouldn't go amiss either. In fact, it'd go straight in my mouth! ;)

I've been resisting the lure of Disney items as i'm off to Disneyland very, very soon. But, it's actually cheaper to buy Disney items in the UK than Paris, so i'll just be buying park items. Disney Store will have to wait until I get home, if I have any funds left. I'm hoping to start a nice collection of Disney tree decorations, and Walt and Elsa are topping my buy list. Along with Dancing Groot and Little Elsa for my room.

Spoiler alert, I know i'm getting a Thomas Sabo bracelet for Christmas. Yay! I love the Fox charm, but I may break my promise of not buying anything from the list and pick this up for myself. I love home made items too, and Etsy is my favourite place to find them. I'm really into Moon things at the moment, and i'd love one of those moon necklaces.

So those are the bits and bobs on my shopping list at the mo. However the dark side of Christmas of course, is not being allowed to buy anything until the big day is over. :(

Are you in Santa's nice list this year? What have you asked the jolly fella for?

Catch up with me;

Spare No Expense. [Wishlist]

So it seems Christmas is well and truly on its way, if the weather outside is anything to go by. Roll on this 8 inches of Snow the UK is supposed to be seeing I say! (Well, if it can hold off long enough to get me on my plane to Paris, that'll be nice.)

So while we're all starting to feel Christmassy, and all my friends keep asking me what I want for Christmas, I figured it might be nice to answer that with an over the top and diva-like wishlist containing items I have no chance of finding under the tree this year.

So here we have, my 'Spare No Expense' wishlist!

GHD Aura Hairdryer
I need to invest in a new hair dryer soon, and I love my GHD stylers so much, that I'd definitely be inclined to go for a GHD Hairdryer, like the Aura. It does come with a pretty hefty £145 price tag, but GHD is a brand I trust to be worth every penny.

Vivienne Westwood Orb Keyring
I love the Vivienne Westwood Orb. Maybe it's something to do with its resemblance to a certain planet I may or may not like. I loved this keyring when I found it but for £40 it was a bit of a splurge... Although now it seems to have vanished! Maybe I can sleuth it out somewhere else.

Alexander McQueen Scarf
I'd love an Alexander McQueen scarf. This 'moth' print one is so beautiful, it's definitely the one I would chose. I don't think anyone will ever give me one, so maybe I should start saving! Unless the world would like to grant me a lottery win soon. Please?

Tatty Devine Midnight Mystic Collar Necklace
I always admire the Tatty Devine jewellery, i've just not snagged something for myself yet. The Midnight Mystic Collar necklace and the collection it comes in are really interesting and different and I think i'd love anything of it, but the collar definitely is the most 'me'. But i've just found it sold out. Waaah. :(

Anastasia's Music Box
Anastasia's Music Box. I've only ever found these online with really high shipping costs, but i've always wanted one. I will have one, one day. Maybe. Please?

Ice Watch
I love my Ice Watch. It's absolutely gorgeous, and the packaging it comes in is so quirky and cool. But at a bright mint colour doesn't suit all outfits, so i'd like a more neutral one as well. This burgundy one is pretty nice, but a nice black or white wouldn't go a miss either.
79.95 john lewis

Kia Picanto
I finally got my provisional license, and i'd love a car of my own. I hopped into one of these in the showroom while helping my mum chose a new car and fell in love with it. I don't like really small cars, while this is small it's not tiny, but not big enough to be intimidating. Sitting in the driving seat of this one, it really felt like my car. None of the others quite felt right. (In fact, the Renault Captur felt absolutely terrifying... It's huge!)

What's made it onto your ultimate super pricey wishlist this year? I hope Santa brings it for you!

"Hey Big Spender!" Festive £25+ Gift Guide

Good day! The final part of my gift guide series has arrived! This time I bring you a showcase of some of the most amazing beauty gifts, quirky toys and budget busting showstopper gifts.

Beauty

In the world of beauty gifts everyone has really out done themselves this year. Everywhere you look there's a must have gift set, with great products in adorable packaging. I'm really hoping Santa gets the memo and there's a little MAC and Urban Decay under the tree for me this year! You may need Santa, or at least a little luck as over half of these are sold out online! Never fear, you've plenty of time to find them.

Novelty
Good friends, good food, good reads and comfy pjs... What else do we need at Christmas? (Aside from the family... :p) A minion of your own? Got you covered with this selection of gifts, and all coming in at under £50, you'll have some pennies spare to treat the giftee to some cute extras.

Super Big Spenders

Got a bigger budget to treat someone really special? A pastel ice watch will make a great gift, or a gorgeous set of GHD's like the Wonderland styler. I love my Ice Watch in mint, and they come in really great packaging to make it an extra cool gift. I have no idea what those Xeno things are, but I'd have been all about that as a kid. In the beauty realm, splash out on the bumper WOW! giftset from Lush, Nars' Vault or the really sweet BonBon set.

That's all for now, but don't forget to check out my more budget friendly guides too!

Have you seen anything to add to your Christmas wish list? How about your shopping lists?
Let me know! Happy Shopping!

Festive Gift Guide : Under £25

Happy Saturday, or what's left of it... I may have gotten a little distracted earlier on in the day from posting this, but here I am! I am back with the second part of my gift guide!

Beauty
Lush gift sets are always a good call for bath fiends, and Festive Friends is packed full of super cute bits and bobs. The Library of Fragrance scents are an awesome and unusual gift, and they're on offer so you can fix two gifts in with a £25 budget! Stay tuned over the next few days, I'll be posting a review of the lovely Sparkle Baby palette!

Novelty
£20 or so is a perfect budget to snap up a bunch of different quirky gifts from jewellery, to purses and wash bags. Scented candles also make a great gift and they don't get much better than Flamingo or Yankee Candles.

Pyjamas
Who doesn't love a good snuggly new pair of PJ's at Christmas? Surprisingly, supermarkets are a really great place to pick up cool character nightwear. Try Tesco for these vintage inspired Frosties pj's. They're greeeaaat!*
*I've been waiting to say something like that since Summer, when I got a pair of Frosties pj's.

Food & Drink
Some fancy chocolates and tipples always make nice gifts. Flavoured vodka, tea or champers in a cracker, anyone? How about some fancy truffles or chocolate gift sets? Popcorn would make a nice gift for a family or kids too, ready to be munched on Christmas day with a festive flick.

Kids
I'm awful when it comes to picking presents for children, but can you really go long with the classics from your own childhood, like the Hungry Caterpillar and Peter Rabbit? You can never go wrong with Batman that's for sure! The Anna and Elsa soft toys are so cute, and you can get both with a £25 budget! If I see Elsa in Disneyland, I'll be bringing her home with me. That's if I don't pick her up in the Disney Store next week!

For Spoilt Little Bunnies...
Remy loves her cardboard castle... Even if she has literally torn a turret off it and it's time to replace it. She uses it as both toy and hideaway, so the little monkey will be getting a new one for Christmas.

Need more ideas? Check out yesterdays post for Stocking Fillers and Secret Santa : £10 & Under. Stick around, tomorrows gift guide is packed with budget busting goodies!

Gift Guide : Stocking Fillers & Secret Santa - £10 & Under

I've been super prepared this year and i've already rounded up all of my Christmas gifts. But now we're full steam ahead to the Christmas season and the gift ranges have landed, it seems that everyone has really brought their A-Game when it comes to their festive gift ranges this year. From M.A.C to Asda, even Pets at Home! It seems that everyone has a whole host of awesome bits and bobs for everyone.

Finding quirky and cool gifts is one of my favourite things to do, so I thought i'd share with you some of my top finds from my festive gift hunting.

Beauty.
Nail polish and shower gels make great stocking fillers. Treacle Moon's Warm Cinnamon Nights will last a long time, and it smells amazing. And I know technically the OPI Nordic collection set is over £10, but it's only 15 pennies...

Novelty.
I love little novelty gifts. How cute is the cotton wool dispenser? I hope Santa is reading, because i'd like one of those please! The Gift of Nothing is the perfect gag gift. I bought one a few years ago for my Granddad. It actually comes with detailed instructions and is all round a good giggle.

Yummy.

You can never go wrong with chocolate and sweets at Christmas really can you? Its something that suits all ages, and tastes, and can easily be picked up without breaking the bank. Hotel Chocolat's festive range is top notch this year. I can't wait to get paws on the Salted Caramel one. Yummy!

Entertainment.
Why not knock a few stocking fillers off your list while doing your weekly shop? That's multi-tasking at its finest. The Tesco entertainment section is where i'm heading to stock up on dvds and the like. Don't forget to shop around, but for convenience, Tesco prices are pretty fab.

For the Kids.
As a child, my stocking was always filled to the brim with cute stuff. Frozen things will go down a storm with little girls, if you can get your hands on them! I think every child should have Top Trumps, and they come in so many different varieties you'll find a pack to suit everyone. I used to have some Buffy ones, I wonder where they went?

Stay tuned, I'll be sharing more Christmas gifts tomorrow!
