Mini Blippo Kawaii Haul

One of the cutest little parcels ever to slip through my letter box arrived today! It couldn't have been better timing as I had absolutely no idea what to post, but as soon as I got my paws on these they were definitely going to be featured on the blog today. So today i'm going to show you the few cute things I ordered from Blippo.com!

I could have easily gone a little crazy with all the really cute Japanese trinkets and sweets, but I somehow managed to show a great amount of restraint and just picked two things. It did help that two of the sweet items I wanted were sold out, so that narrowed down my choices. I had really wanted to try Milk pocky, and 'Purple Potato' pocky as they are popular Japanese flavours, yet unusual to us Brits. Maybe i'll get my paws on them some other time.

The first thing i'd chosen was this adorable desk calender. I've seen variants of this style calender before on places like modcloth, but far pricier. This set me back a teeny tiny £2.45! Each page is made from a good thick paper and has a different little face on it. All of which are really cute, aside from the sad faced one for next month. I always get the dud for my birth month! (Unless we're talking about the Once Upon A Time calender. Us May babies get Captain Hook! Swoon.) There is even a little cardboard stand attached to the back, so its going to look great stood on top of my new drawers! If I ever actually get around to clearing the space to put them, that is...

This adorable little sheep calender is still advertised on the website, but the link wasn't working when I tried it. Maybe it was just a blip(po), click here if you want to check it out for yourself.

I also wanted to try a different flavour of pocky to the usual white or milk chocolate Mikado ones that are easily found in the biscuit aisle. When my first two choices were sold out, I settled on these Glico Cookies and Cream ones, priced at £2.54. The packaging on these is really cute with the little panda on it, and the foil type wrap inside is even cuter with the little sparkles and pandas. I had a little trouble getting it open, but once I did I was hit with a lovely smell. It was part Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough, and part something else. Something else, which like a genius i've gone and forgotten, but it was a lovely smell either way. The taste however, was really subtle and sweet creamy cookie taste. After the lovely and rather strong smell, I was quite surprised really as I was expecting them to have quite a strong taste too. The biscuit was really nice and light and well.... Really easy to eat the entire pack in one go. Whoops!

The free delivery took roughly three weeks, as estimated on the site. There are other shipping options available too, if you want your goodies a little faster. Everything was packaged really well and neatly inside a the little box and there was even a free gift of a luminous pink Blippo silicone wristband.

Blippo have a great range of stationery, treats, plushes and accessories at really reasonable prices. They even offer mystery boxes and run a subscription service called The Kawaii Box. So if you need a Kawaii fix, Blippo and their subscription box are definitely worth checking out!

Do you have anywhere you like to get your kawaii fix from? Or any recommendations for good Japanese sweets? I'd love to hear about them!

See you next time! :)

A Daytrip to Liverpool and Anfield Stadium.

Waaaay back in February, my travel buddy and I took advantage of London Midlands £15 'Great Escape' offer and hopped on a train to Liverpool. Neither of us have ever been to the city before, and our primary goal was the stadium tour of Anfield. I'm not exactly a football fan, but I've been dragged around a few stadium tours in my time (the joys of having football mad big brothers,) and figured it would be pretty interesting to add another to my list. While we had the whole day there, we wanted to cram in a few more sights

Winter in Paris : Goodies and Souvenirs Haul.

Whoops! That was a bit of a bigger delay than I had in mind between posts there. My adorable fluffy hoppy bunnykins Remy has been all sorts of hormonal on me recently, and over the last few days has been experiencing a phantom pregnancy. In bunny-land this is a big and distressing deal for everyone, but she's getting back to her normal self now. Phew!

So now that is all over and done with, i'm finally going to show you all what I got in Paris!

Personally, I love hauls/birthday/Christmas gets types of posts, especially from travel shopping! I'm going to try and let you know how much everything was, as a budgeting aide for anyone planning a trip to Paris soon! But if haul posts aren't your kind of thing, you may want to click away now.

[Haul] Sephora

Oh it's here! My first Sephora haul!
I placed my order at some point over the weekend, it shipped on Monday, and this lovely box of goodies arrived yesterday! So i'm really pleased with the shipping time on this. With tax and shipping, my order came to just over £100, and not everything is pictured here as I picked up a few gifts!

Kat Von D Shade Shifter Set ($15 // £9.34) These shadows by Kat Von D come in four different shades, and these two are my favourite. Considering each shadow is $16 on its own, this is possibly the bargain of the year for me, as these were the two shades i'd considered buying! Pictured here is On The Road and Love Letter. I'm excited to try these as i've only heard good things about Kat Von D's make up brand.

Bite Beauty Best Bite Set ($25 // £15.57) is four matte pencils in the shades Quince, Rhubarb, Cranberry, Madeira, presented in this cute little tin. First impressions? These seem like really luxurious pencils, and the tin is plenty big enough for one of these, a mini mascara and eyeliner. Nice little tin to pop in the bag for make up on the go.

LastStash To Go ($25 // £15.57)
features travel sizes mascaras from Too Faced, LancĂ´m, Tarte, Blinc Inc. and Bare Minerals with a voucher for full-size featured mascara. Which can only be used in store, but doesn't seem to have an expiry date on it. These are all really good sizes for samples, and are much bigger than one of my favourite travel mascaras I got from a different kit. (Which I will show you later. The review is half written in my drafts already.)

TokyoMilk Dark Femme Fatale Lip Elixir ($7 // £4.35) I love the way the TokyoMilk Dark products are branded, and i've not been able to find the 'Dark' version of the products in the UK at all! (Although I have finally managed to find the lighter and pretty TokyoMilk products.) I'd have liked a little travel set or perfume, but as there are shipping restrictions on those items, I went with the lip elixirs and snapped up a couple. I chose Absinthe, La Vie En Rose and Salted Caramel. I'm on the fence about the smell of Salted Caramel, and I love Absinthe. It's sooo zingy.

Unfortunately I can't open the last one... So i'll let you know next time!

Finally, samples galore! I really like that you can chose three samples with every order, although there's also a perfume sample card, and one of them i'd selected arrived as two different ones... So I really got five! :O
  • TokyoMilk Dark Hand Cream Everything & Nothing N.10 Femme Fatale Collection
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
  • Alterna Abundant Volume Bamboo Shampoo & Conditioner
  • John Varvatos Artisan Black EDT Vial
  • Sephora perfume card.

Then I used the points I was earning to pick up this mini Tarte Cheek Stain, in the shade Flush. Cheek colour is another thing I don't really tend to use, as I tend to completely ignore my base make up...

I also received the Make Up Forever Birthday Gift, which contains a mini mascara and lipstick. I love minis! I've picked up so many cute minis for travelling recently that I think my travel kit is going to need a travel kit!

I'll definitely be ordering from Sephora again. The service was great, the products are interesting and I can't wait to try. Shipping speed and value was amazing. Very very impressed!

Have you been Sephora shopping? Let's share hauls! :)

May Super Hauls : Lush Edition [2/3]

So as I mentioned in yesterday's post, for my birthday I recieved a big box full of Lush goodies from my friend Katy! Although my friends and I all love Lush products, I haven't really used many, so it was super fun to open and paw through to see what products she'd chosen for me to try.

Look at all these bathbombs! Yaaay!

This is a celebration of spring in a bath bomb, bursting into a floral fragrance. Inspired by the cherry blossom in Japan, this pretty bomb is designed to evoke the burst of optimism the first sign of spring brings. We've used calming mimosa and jasmine oils complemented by lemon oil and orange flower to bring to mind the smell of this colourful season.
Spring is well and truly here now, and maybe even a little, dare I say it SUMMER peeping through? So this seems like a nice bath bomb to celebrate the summer nights and plan a trip to Tokyo with. ;)

If sleep is evading you, this combination of essential oils will help get you ready for a good night's rest. As Twilight dissolves, it turns from the colour of the setting sun and gets darker, turning your water a shimmering deep purple. The fragrance has been designed to help you sleep: lavender is a soothing, mind-clearing and calming fragrance, used in aromatherapy to treat insomnia and aid restful sleep, while benzoin and tonka call to mind a milky caramel malt drink.
Sleep usually evades me, so this will be a nice bomb to try, see if it'll help me drift off!

Dragon’s Egg makes bathtime exciting as it fizzes and crackles and changes the colour of your water to a gorgeous citrusy gold. Its scent is reminiscent of lemon sherbet, with a hint of jasmine, leaving you feeling great and ready for a good day. Its citrus scents leave you feeling transformed and invigorated.
This one has popping candy in it. Popping candy! I love popping candy, fizzy things and dragons.

A mystical, shimmering purple and green layered bath bomb that rises in the water on a cloud of exotic spice fragrance. When your skin is feeling over-cooked and in desperate need of hydration, the luxurious blend of cocoa and shea butters will have you rising out of the bath with soft, luscious skin. Its rich, cinnamon fragrance will also lift your mood if you’re feeling out of sorts.
This looks and sounds cool, and I really like the smell of cinnamon. It looks rather exotic too.

When you need to clear your mind and float up the yellow brick road, indulge in this rainbow bubble bath. Ylang ylang and orange flower absolute create a heady floral fragrance, lifting your mood. The gorgeous vivid blue of Dorothy turns your bath a dark shade of aquamarine to brighten your mood. Ylang ylang has a sensual, sweet scent that’s used by aromatherapists to improve your mood, while the intensely floral, heady orange flower is also used to lift the spirits.
This one is so cute, I think there would be something wrong with me if receiving this in the post didn't bring a little smile to my face. (A big smile in fact, opening the post was so much fun!)

Sometimes you just need to shut yourself off from the outside world under a blanket of fruity foam that will put you back in the right frame of mind to face the world. This bar is supersized, so you’ll only need to crumble half a bar under your tap to make enough bubbles for a long, comforting soak. Cassis absolute gives a distinctive blackcurrant fragrance, while bergamot adds an uplifting note.
This has been a Lush staple for as long as I can remember nipping into shops, yet i've never considered buying one. I think it's about time I give this one a shot, don't you?

An exfoliating shower scrub that can also be used to wash, volumise and add shine to hair. Packed with mineral-rich sea salt, Rub Rub Rub can be used as a gentle scrub on wet skin, or on dry skin for a really good buff before you get in the shower. Sea salt, a natural antiseptic as well as exfoliant, is combined with lots of lemon juice to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and it also adds shine and volume to hair.
Sea Salt things are usually amazing so this is going to be great to try. Yippie!

A solid alternative to toothpaste with spearmint to leave your teeth squeaky clean and your breath minty fresh. Made with bicarbonate of soda, kaolin powder, spearmint and neroli oils. These boxes are great for the environment, stopping the need for aluminium tubes that end up in landfill. Simply nibble between your front teeth to break up the tab and start brushing.
I'm very excited to try these, as i'd hinted I wanted to try some but hadn't chosen a type...

And lastly,
A space-dust filled bath bomb with a sweet and fruity fragrance. Once you drop this into your bath, Space Girl crackles with space dust (popping candy) as it spins around your orbit, restoring your good cheer. Grapefruit oil is refreshing and uplifting for the mood, clarifying and toning the skin, while bergamot makes you feel relaxed and cheerful.
It's glittery and saturn shaped... It's my spirit (bath) bomb!

Now which to try first! So many cool things. Bring on the bubbles!
Stay tuned tomorrow for the final part of my super duper may hauls! :D

May Super Hauls: Birthday Edition [1/3]

So it's been about two weeks since my birthday which meant gifts galore! It also saw payday arrive and the spending ban end so I treated myself to some stuff. I still have birthday money to spend and some things from friends haven't even arrived yet, then a huge box of goodies arrived in the post from one of my friends. I have been thoroughly spoiled this year...

I think i'll have to split it into three posts! So without further ado I present to you;

The Birthday Haul!

From the Family;

My parents got me the Alexander McQueen 'My Queen' perfume, an outdoor play pen for Remy, and a gift card so I could go on a spending spree. I had more or less decided what I wanted online. I chose the Rimmel London polishes in Sea Green, Peppermint and Frankie My Dear. The Revlon Parfumerie polishes in Wintermint, Ginger Melon and Fresh Linen. The Soap and Glory Supercat and Smoulder Kohl eyeliners and a 'Great Kisser' Lipbalm. I picked up a Philosophy lipgloss too, as it was birthday cake, and well, seemed fitting! I also completed my MUA Luxe collection with Funk and Atomic. I still have funds to spare! I also received money from my grandad which i've yet to spend... What to buy now... Hmmmm

From the Friends;
My friend Claire bought me this amazing cardboard play castle for Remy, so we had a great time assembling that, and then letting the little monster out to explore in it. She has great fun, and despite having a great big hutch, and lots of space... She spends most of her day napping in the castle!
Claire also treated me to one of the new Illamasqua Velvet Lip Liquid's, in the shade Exotic, as orange is my favourite colour and I love wacky bright colour lippies. There was also the two comic book style Models Own Sticky Fingers polishes, so bring on the superhero nails!
From the lovely Hannah, I got a Philosophy 'Sweet Fluffy Cupcake' bath and shower gel, which smells insanely nice and is a really cool silvery colour. I've never tried Philosophy products before, so to get two things from them to try on one occasion is really cool. It didn't stop there! There was also an Eye Rock gift set that contains cool eyeliner transfers that I can't wait to try and funky nail strips. AND (yes i'm still going...) A Betsey Johnson make up bag. I love Betsey Johnson, but don't have anything from her ranges. So I got really excited when I opened this package too! It has a kind of tattoo vibe to it in my opinion. My friends know me so well...

From the Co-Workers;
I work in a really great department where I can call my co-workers my friends. I got some money, (which I haven't spent yet either... Whoops!) This awesomely soft Minecraft Creeper plush from Kellie, which was on my birthday wishlist. It's actually a keyring, and is pretty big and squishy and lovely, because I love creepers... and can never find my keys in my bag. Ever...
Then from Lyndsay, I got a smushie Furby (that I forgot to pop in this picture), a cuddly carrot for Remy and a cuddly red panda from Build-A-Bear! This is my third Build-A-Bear soft toy, and he is pretty solid. Great for snuggling. I think red pandas are adorable, and if you don't, then maybe you should watch this video...

And finally from my friend Katy, is this awesome box of Lush goodies! Which is a haul all in itself!

Phew... That's a lot. I'm still waiting for a chance to have a good catch up with some of my other friends, and they say they have presents for me too! It's raining presents this month! Stay tuned for part two tomorrow where i'll show you what was in my goody box from lush! :)

Post-Payday Weekend Spend-tacular!

Hey everyone!

For those of you who follow my twitter and/or instagram, you'll already be clued in to how I spent my weekend! But for those of you who don't, I went out to see Disney on Ice and Fall Out Boy with shopping and hotel stay thrown in. (And a wander/getting completely lost on random buses day...)

Now, where this months money goes is important as from the 1st of April... I'm officially on a spending ban! I know what your thinking, "April Fool!" but unfortunately not. April 1st is officially one month until my birthday, so i'm unable to buy anything for myself. I've already been banned from buying the new Models Own Sticky Fingers collection by one friend. I'm being hailed as the worst person to buy for, as if I want something... I typically just go and buy it.

I'm beginning to think i'm allergic to having my own money or something.

Well while I was out and about, I picked up some super cool stuff! Let's take a peek! :D

Darn shiny things looking terrible in photographs...

So first things first, is my tour merch! At Fall Out Boy I picked up a jumper with Fall Out Boy Chicago on. Because I fell in love with it on the spot, and had to have it. I also snapped up one of the red Save Rock and Roll wristbands. For some reason I love those kind of wristbands, and well... Fall Out Boy! I also got a "Light 'Em Up" glowy wand, but it's not in the pic as I might have broken it in my over enthusiastic bouncing and screaming... Oops. At Disney I picked up a gift for my friend and my drink came in this adorable Toy Story Alien cup! On the way through the station, we spotted some vendors selling light up merchandise and I couldn't resist the little light up Minnie Bow headbands. So mum bought us one each!

Next up is what I purchased while rambling the shops. From left to right, this massive can of Arizona Kiwi & Strawberry juice drink I found at a bus station Spar that sold American candies and drinks. While completely lost... Bonus! I also snapped up some Cheeky 'Unleash Your Locks' Shampoo and Cheeky 'Loving Your Locks' Conditioner from Superdrug as it was a third off and I had wanted to try the brand anyway. The packaging was adorable, and they have a nice product range. The last thing in the picture is some socks, from H&M. The ones pictured are a soft grey leopard print and a zebra print. The grey giraffe print is hiding behind the conditioner.

Moving along, I picked up the Topshop Cobalt Tweezers as i'd lost my only good pair, and really liked the colour of these. My brows were in desperate need of a new buddy, so these were definitely my most necessary purchase. (After the Fall Out Boy merch...) For the rest, we're back to Superdrug, where I snagged an NYC Clear Lipgloss, as I fancied this for attempting some different lip looks. I also grabbed the only MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer the store I was in had left, which was in the colour Atomic. I recently tested one of the other colours and was interested to see how a different colour performed. I'll be reviewing them soon!

When I saw the Samy Fat Hair Thickening Spray for half price, (and less than three pounds) there was no way I was leaving without it. For years I have been desperate for big hair, and no matter what I try or use, it falls flat. Usually before I even leave the house. I'll let you know if this works!

Finally, back to the Cheeky brand with the Bubble Trouble Shower Mousse... Which I kinda only bought because I liked the moose on the front and it made me think of my friend in Canada. I'm a simple soul, really.

So that's what i've been spending my money on this week!
Wanna see a review of anything? What have you been buying?
